There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Eclectic Offerings: Red Wine Edition - Tuesday, September 18 (MPM), and Wednesday, September 19 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood on Wednesday
The red wine version of our last tasting! Our tasting themes normally center around a region, varietal, or style of wine, but for this tasting we're focusing on wines you might not be familiar with. As you know, we love exposing our customers to lesser-known regions, varietals, and producers, and so for this tasting we'll explore a range of unique, distinctive, and delicious reds. Though you may not know them before the tasting, you'll be glad you tried them! The wines will be:

  • Becker Family 2013 Pinot Noir, Pfalz Germany ($16.95)
  • John & Mike Favre 2017 "Dole" Red Blend, Chamoson Switzerland ($21.95)
  • Bastianich 2014 "Vini Orsone" Refosco, Venezia Giulia Italy ($17.95)
  • Pedro Parra y Familia 2016 “Imaginador” Cinsault, Itata Chile ($22.95)
  • Bhilar 2016 "Lagrimas de Graciano", Rioja Spain ($13.95)
  • Pintas 2014 "Character" Tinto, Douro Portugal ($36.95)

Cost of the tasting is $15 + tax per person. Seatings are at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood. Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood on Wednesday
For many lovers of Pinot Noir, the Burgundy region of France is where the grape reaches its greatest heights. At its best, red Burgundy is haunting, beguiling, and captivating, offering ethereal flavors of cherry, strawberry, forest floor, spice, and more.
