We carry several wines from Some Young Punks, a quirky Australian winery with fantastically eye-catching labels, and one of the most common questions we get when people see the bottles is "Are these wines actually any good?" J.  Lohr Tasting - Thursday, February 11

Brian Tschida, national sales manager for J. Lohr, will bet stopping by Thief Wine on Thursday to pour and discuss several of the winery's delicious selections. Based in Paso Robles, J.Lohr produces both cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Arroyo Seco and also robust Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and more from their home base in Paso Robles and vineyards in Napa Valley. Many of you will be celebrating Valentine's Day a night early - this spectacular limited-seating tasting is the perfect way to start off your evening before dinner. We'll be tasting three stunning luxury Champagnes, all of them delicious and ideal for a special occasion. The wines will be:

A Valentine's Day treat! We're teaming up with Kehr's Kandies for an informal wine & chocolate pairing. We'll sample several different wines - a juicy Shiraz, a spicy Zinfandel, a Port, and more - matched with a Kehr's Market Bar (semi-sweet), chocolate truffle, and raspberry truffle. Sweet and delicious! The wines will be:

Unique White Varietals - Tuesday, February 16

We explored unique red varietals in January; now it's time to discover some white grapes you might not be familiar with. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are justifiably famous, but there are many, many more options out there as well. For this tasting we'll sample and enjoy six distinctive and unique grapes from around the world. The wines will be:

Bordeaux Blends Not from Bordeaux - Tuesday, February 23

The Bordeaux blend - primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and/or Cabernet Franc - is a classic mixture of grapes, and one of the most widely copied blends around the world. In this tasting we'll explore Bordeaux-style blends from everywhere but their homeland. We'll taste and enjoy wines from Washington, California, South America, Italy, and Australia to discover just what makes this blend so spectacular. Wines and price TBD (likely $20-$25).
