There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Chateau Bonnet Tasting with Christine Lurton - Wednesday, Feb. 3 (MPM)
Drop in between 5:30 - 7 p.m. at MPM
Please join us for a special visit with Christine Lurton, part of Bordeaux's renowned Lurton family, for a tasting of three wines from Chateau Bonnet and one from Chateau de Cruzeau. Christine's father, Andre Lurton, was a pioneer in assembling a collection of undervalued properties with great potential in Bordeaux, and today the family owns and runs several chateaux that consistently overdeliver for the price. Christine's got a wealth of experience, and this is a wonderful chance to learn about this classic region first-hand, and taste some delicious wines in the process. The wines will be:

  • Chateau Bonnet 2014 Blanc, Bordeaux ($14.95)
  • Chateau Bonnet 2014 Rosť, Bordeaux ($14.95)
  • Chateau Bonnet 2012 Rouge, Bordeaux ($15.95)
  • Chateau de Cruzeau 2012 Pessac-Leognan ($29.95)

Cost of the tasting is a mere $5 per person! No RSVPs are required; drop in any time between 5:30 - 7 p.m. at MPM. Email info@thiefwine.com or call us at 414.277.7707 (MPM) or 414.906.1906 (Shorewood).

Eclectic Favorites - Tuesday, February 9 (MPM) & Wednesday, February 10 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. at MPM; 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood
Our tasting themes normally center around a region, varietal, or style of wine, but for this tasting we're focusing on wines you might not be familiar with. As you know, we love exposing our customers to lesser-known regions, varietals, and producers, and so for this tasting we'll explore a range of unique, distinctive, and delicious reds, white, and perhaps a sparkling offering! Though you may not know them before the tasting, you'll be glad you tried them! The wines will be:

  • Jean Vesselle NV Brut "Oeil de Perdrix", Champagne France ($49.95)
  • Raventos i Blanc 2013 "Silencis" Xarel-lo, Penedes Spain ($19.95)
  • Zuani 2010 "Zuani" Bianco Riserva, Collio Italy ($29.95)
  • Luchetti 2013 Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, Italy ($15.95)
  • La Puerta Alta 2009 Bonarda, Mendoza Argentina ($12.95)
  • Stift-Kloster 2013 Blaufrankisch, Burgenland Austria ($20.95)

Cost of the tasting is $15 + tax. Seatings are at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood. RSVPs are required; a credit card is required to secure your reservation. (If you call to cancel by 2 p.m. the day of the tasting, your card will not be charged. If you are on the wait list, we'll notify you by 2 p.m. if space has become available.)
