There's
no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking
about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes
different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus,
it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Winemaker Tasting with Greg La Follette - Friday, June 21 (Shorewood) 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Shorewood We're thrilled to welcome Greg La Follette to our Shorewood location for a special and exclusive Friday evening tasting on June 21. In addition to being one of the nicest and most generous people you'll ever meet (we're lucky to count him as a friend; he's coming up from Chicago just for this tasting), he's widely considered one of California's top (and most knowledgeable) winemakers, specializing in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. After working at Beaulieu Vineyards and Jarvis in Napa Valley, Greg gained renown as the winemaker at Flowers Winery, where he also built their innovative gravity-flow winery. Greg then went on to co-found Tandem Winery, which has evolved into his eponymously named label La Follette Wines. From his affordable North Coast line to his small-production single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, the wines are spectacular, and the opportunity to taste through them with Greg is priceless - this truly is a tasting not to miss. The wines will be:
- 2011 Chardonnay, North Coast
- 2010 Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast
- 2009 Manchester Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay, Mendocino Ridge
- 2010 Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
- 2010 Van der Camp Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Mountain
- 2009 Manchester Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir, Mendocino Ridge
