There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

The Pinnacle of Pinot Noir: Burgundy - Tuesday, September 26 (MPM) & Wednesday, September 27 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. at MPM; 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood
To many connoisseurs of Pinot Noir, the Burgundy region of France is where the grape reaches its greatest heights. At its best, red Burgundy is haunting, beguiling, and captivating, offering ethereal flavors of cherry, strawberry, forest floor, spice, and more. For this tasting we'll range from a basic Bourgogne to village and single-vineyard wines from the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits, discovering how the many nuances of the varied terroirs result in Pinots of vastly different character. Wines TBD.

Cost of the tasting is TBD. Seatings are at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at MPM and 6 & 8 pm at Shorewood. RSVPs are required; a credit card is required to secure your reservation. (If you call to cancel by 3 p.m. the day of the tasting, your card will not be charged. If you are on the wait list, we'll notify you by 3 p.m. if space has become available.) Red Wines of the Southern Rhone - Tuesday, October 24 (MPM), and Wednesday, October 25 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. at MPM; 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood
Reds of the Southern Rhone are an intriguing blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and often a few other grapes thrown in for good measure. Rich, meaty, smoky, and earthy, yet wonderfully balanced, they're exceptionally versatile and delicious both with food and on their own. Chateauneuf du Pape is the most famous appellation in the region, but other villages such as Rasteau and Gigondas produce top-quality wines as well, while Cotes-du-Rhones offer exceptional value. This will be a delicious chance to explore the wines of the region! Wines TBD.
