about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes
different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. Plus,
it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something!

How Wines Age: A Comparison Between Young & Mature Wines - Tuesday, March 9
6:00 p.m. at the wine bar Ever wonder how long that nice bottle of wine will age for, and when you should pull the cork? For this tasting we'll explore three pairs of wines of varying ages - each pair will be from the same region, with one wine relatively youthful and the other having several years of age on it. Limited to 12 people so everyone gets a healthy 2 oz. pour of each wine. The wines will be:
- Gianni Brunelli 1996 Brunello di Montalcino
- Casanova di Neri 2004 Brunello di Montalcino
- Clos de Mont Olivet 1994 Chateauneuf du Pape
- Clos de Mont Olivet 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape
- Stag's Leap Vineyard 1996 SLV Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
- Jordan 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley

Good Pinot Noir is hard to beat, offering exquisite elegance, nuance, and depth of flavor. For this tasting we'll explore Pinot from around the world - France, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Oregon, and California - to taste a range of styles and flavor profiles. Taste just how delicious this varietal can be! The wines will be:

For this tasting we'll explore the various regions of Australia and the white wines they produce, ranging from the Semillon and Verdelho that are distinctive to the country, along with the international varietals Sauvigon Blanc and Chardonnay, including and unoaked version that is a hallmark of the country. Ranging from crisp and refreshing to full and lush, but all delicious! Wines TBD.

Syrah / Shiraz Quality Comparison - Tuesday, March 30
Seatings at 5, 6:15, and 7:30 p.m. at the wine bar
Syrah-palooza! This tasting will feature six different Syrah / Shirazes in three pairs grouped by region. We'll taste two wines each from the Northern Rhone, Australia, and Washington; within each pair the wines will be served blind and there will be one expensive wine and one more moderately priced. This a great chance to learn how do distinguish wines of varying quality levels - can you taste the difference? Wines and price TBD (likely $20-25, depending on wines chosen).
