 There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Red Wine Quality Comparison - Tuesday, November 29 (MPM) & Wednesday, November 30 (Shorewood)

This will be the red version of the previous tasting - is there really that much difference in quality between a moderately priced wine and an expensive one? Here's your chance to find out! For this tasting, we'll taste six red wines - 3 different pairs of the same varietal or blend, with a significant price difference between the wines in each pair; to make it interesting, we'll taste the wines blind - can you taste the difference?!? The wines will be:

Champagne is rightly top of mind when it comes to sparkling wine, but before we get to that tasting we'll explore sparkling wines from the rest of the world. California, Spain, Italy, and more - we'll go around the world to discover and enjoy some delicious bubbles in advance of the holidays. Wines TBD.

It's that time of year again - our annual Champagne tasting! (Champagne is great any time, of course, but this season it takes front and center stage.) Just in time for the holidays, we'll taste and explore six different and delicious Champagnes, with styles ranging from bone-dry to rich & creamy and grower Champagne to larger negociant houses. From old favorites to new discoveries, this is a tasting not to be missed! Wines TBD.

Tuscan Reds - Tuesday, Jan. 10 (MPM) & Wednesday, Jan. 11 (Shorewood)

It's been a while since we focused on the Tuscany region of central Italy - home to world-renowned Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and more - and so it's high time for another tasting. We'll learn more about the area and explore several Sangiovese-based wines, which combine elegance, minerality, and great acidity with richness, depth, and ageworthiness, along with a delicious Super Tuscan or two. Riesling is one of the world's great white wines, with exceptional depth, richness, and longevity. Most people know of only the sweeter versions, but Riesling can be made in a variety of styles and flavor profiles. For this tasting, we'll taste and learn about Rieslings from around the world and in a range of styles and sweetness levels, with wines from Austria, France, the U.S., Australia, and Germany. Wines TBD.
