There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Masterful Malbec - Tuesday, November 4 (MPM) and Wednesday, November 5 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. at MPM; 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood
Malbec has been one of the most popular varietals in the shop since we opened six years ago, and shows no signs of waning. It's full-bodied but with moderate tannins, abundant fruit but not overly jammy (at least in the good examples), and is generally an excellent value, For this tasting we'll sample through several wines from Argentina, France (the home of the grape), including both pure varietal expressions and a blend or two. Wines TBD.

Cost of the tasting is $15 + tax. Seatings are at 6 & 7:30 p.m. at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood. RSVPs are required; a credit card is required to secure your reservation. (If you call to cancel by 3 p.m. the day of the tasting, your card will not be charged. If you are on the wait list, we'll notify you by 3 p.m. if space has become available.) Email info@thiefwine.com or call us at 414.277.7707 (MPM) or 414.906.1906 (Shorewood) to RSVP.

While our tastings often focus on more affordable wines, every once in a while it's fun to open up some high-end and rare gems that most people wouldn't normally have the opportunity to try. For this tasting we'll switch it up a bit and offer six exceptional wines from around the world a la carte - the wines will be available by the 2 oz. taste or 5 oz. glass, and we'll price them at basically retail pricing. Thus, you'll get to try a great glass of wine for the same price it would cost to you drink it at home, and you don't have to commit to the whole bottle! This is a ridiculously good value, so don't miss out. Wines TBD.
