There's no better way to learn about wine than tasting comparatively, talking about it while you're tasting it ("so that's why this wine tastes different than that!"), and hearing about the wine's background. (Plus, it's the most fun you'll ever have learning something.)

Thief Wine's 10th Anniversary Party! - Sunday, July 22 (MPM))
4 p.m. - 6 p.m at MPM
In the summer of 2008, Phil and Aimee moved here from California to start Thief Wine, and opened our doors on July 20 in the Milwaukee Public Market. It's hard to believe it's been ten years - in some ways it seems like we've been doing this forever, and in other ways it seems like it's only yesterday, but it's been an amazing ride thus far, and we've met so many wonderful people and shared a lot of fantastic wine. Thank you all so much for your support over the years! To celebrate, we'll be having a fun and casual tasting at the Public Market on Sunday, July 22 from 4 - 6 p.m. - it'll be outside (tented, in front of our entrance on St. Paul Ave.) given the lovely time of year, with a theme of only sparkling and rosÚ wines (lots of each, of course), and including live music (think Jamaican steel drums) and light appetizers (plus anniversary cake, of course). We hope you can join us! Tickets are just $35 inclusive - give us a call at 414.277.7707 or stop in at either location to get yours today! For more details, click here.

Old World / New World Comparison: Whites - Tuesday, July 24 (MPM), and Wednesday, July 25 (Shorewood)
Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood on Wednesday
Wines from the Old World (i.e., Europe) are often generalized as being more restrained, savory, nuanced, less fruit-forward, and higher in acid and lower in alcohol compared to their New World counterparts. Is this still the case? For this tasting we'll explore three sets of white wines focusing on different varietals, with an Old World and a New World wine for each set (and a bonus wine for the Bordeaux set!). Join us for an informative and delicious comparison tasting! Wines TBD.

Cost of the tasting TBD. Seatings are at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood. RSVPs are required; a credit card is required to secure your reservation. (If you call to cancel by 3 p.m. the day of the tasting, your card will not be charged. If you are on the wait list, we'll notify you by 3 p.m. if space has become available.) Email info@thiefwine.com or call us at 414.277.7707 (MPM) or 414.906.1906 (Shorewood).

Here's the red wine version of the tasting above! Seatings at 6 & 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at MPM and 6 & 8 p.m. at Shorewood on Wednesday

Thief Wine's Fall Grand Tasting - Friday, October 26 (MPM)
We're going to switch up the timing a bit this year - instead of doing a Saturday afternoon (when the Public Market is at its peak customer capacity), we're going to have the Fall Grand Tasting on a Friday evening, which should be easier parking and flow for everyone. It'll be the same format as previous Grand Tastings, but with all new wines, of course; hours will be: Reserve Level 5:30 - 7pm, General Admission 7 - 9pm. Ticket details coming soon.
